Nigar Hasib


Performerin, Leitung der GesangStimmKörperarbeit und künstlerische Leiterin des Lalish Theaterlabors/Forschungszentrum für Theater und Performance-Kultur in Wien. Magister und Doktorat Philosophie an Theaterwissenschaft und Sozial- und Kulturanthropologie an der Universität Wien, sowie Studium an der Theaterakademie in Bagdad/Irak. Drei Jahre Dozentin an College für Theater in Südkurdistan. 1986-1990 Mitbegründerin, Performerin, Leitung der GesangStimmKörperarbeit „Kurdisches Experimental Theaterensemble“ in Süd Kurdistan/Irak.

Seit 1991 lebt und arbeitet in Wien.

1998 Mitbegründerin des „Lalish Theaterlabor“ mit Shamal Amin, als ein „Forschungszentrum für Theater und Performance-Kultur“, und seit Juni 2000 Eröffnung eigenes Theaterraumes/Laboratoriums mit Unterstützung vom Kulturamt der Stadt Wien.

Zusammenarbeit an eigenen experimentellen Forschungsprojekten mit Shamal Amin: von 1985-1991 im Orient am „Kultur-physisches Konzept“, von 1992-1999 in Europa am „Erforschung performativer Kultur und ihrer Techniken“, von 2000-2003 Entwicklung des Konzeptes „Aufbruch zur Quelle der Feierlichkeit“ und „Prozess: KreativNatur“, ab 2003 intensive Weitererforschung eigener Arbeitsmethode „experimentelle rituelle Performance“ mit dem Prozess: „Lieder als Quelle“.

Seit 1984 internationale Auftritte in Kurdistan, Irak, Ägypten, Tunesien, Jordanien, Österreich, Deutschland, Holland, Großbritannien, Dänemark, Polen, Schweiz, Frankreich, Griechenland, Kosovo, Ukraine, Bosnien Herzegowina, Bulgarien, Japan.

Teilnahme an internationalen Theaterfestivals mit Performances und Forschungsprojekten, Leitung StimmKörper  Workshops in Europa, Nordafrika, Nahen Osten und Asien.

Leitung vom Spezialworkshop, Arbeitsdemonstration und Performance am "Grotowski Jahr 2009"; ein Projekt von UNESCO und Grotowski Institut in Polen.

Shamal Amin


Regisseur, Performer, Forschungsleiter des Lalish Theaterlabors, Entwickler und Präsident von "International Center of Voice Anthropology"Theorie und Praxis, in Wien/Österreich. Magister Philosophie an Theaterwissenschaft und Sozial- und Kulturanthropologie an der Universität Wien/Österreich, Studium der Theaterakademie in Bagdad/Irak. Mitbegründer, Direktor und Regisseur des "Kurdisches Experimental Theaterensemble" in Kurdistan/Irak.

Lebt und arbeitet er seit 1991in Wien.

Biography of the founders and leaders of Lalish Theaterlabor


Nigar Hasib

Performer, Leader of the voice and singing, artistic director of the Lalish Theaterlabor in Vienna. Master and doctorate philosophy at theatre science and social-culture anthropology at the University of Vienna.

1986-1990 co-founders, Performer, line of the voice and body work „Kurdish experimental theatre“ in South Kurdistan/Iraq and study at the theatre academy of the University of Baghdad/Iraq. Three years Lecturer at college for theatres in South Kurdistan.


Since 1991 lives and works in Vienna.

1998 Co-founders of the Lalish Theaterlabor with Shamal Amin, as a research centre for theatre and performance culture, and since June 2000 opening own of theatre area/laboratory in Vienna.

Co-operation at own experimental research projects with Shamal Amin: from in 1985-1991 in East in the "cultural-physical concept", from in 1992-1999 in Europe in the "investigation of performativ culture and her techniques", from in 2000-2003 development of the concept "departure to the source of the Celebration" and "process: CreativeNature", from 2003 intensive research of own working method "experimental ritual performance" with the process: “Songs as a source".

Since 1984 international appearances and participation at international Theatre festivals in Kurdistan, Iraq, Egypt, Tunis, Jordan, Austria, Germany, Holland, Great Britain, Denmark, Poland, Switzerland, France, Greece, Kosovo, Ukraine, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Japan.

Shamal Amin

Director, Performer, ethnologist, research leader of the Lalish Theaterlabor in Vienna. Developer of the research method "voice anthropology"/theory and praxis. Master philosophy at theatre science and social-culture anthropology at the University of Vienna. Study in the theatre academy of the university of Baghdad/Iraq.


Since 1991 lives and works in Vienna.

1998 Foundation of the "Lalish Theaterlabor" in Vienna, together with Nigar Hasib, as a "research centre for theatre and performance culture", and since June, 2000 opening own theatrical space / laboratory in Vienna.
